[ ANOTASI / ABSTRAK ]

Carbon monoxide (CO), which is one of the biggest indication of air pollution due to the proceeds of incomplete combustion from vehicles, industry and households. The aims to 1) determine the levels of CO gas before and after by means of restructuring of air chambers, 2) analyzing the gas content of CO after by means of restructuring of air to reduce levels of CO gas, and 3) determine the value of the effectiveness and efficiency of the appliance recovery room air to lower levels of CO gas that has been made. This research is a form of pre experiment with one group pre-post test design. The data analysis used paired t test. The results showed average levels of CO gas before recovery room air through the tool of 293.04 ppm and afterwards amounted to 54.12 ppm. The percentage decrease in the levels of CO gas is an average of 81.54%. The results of the analysis paired t test showed p = 0.000 <α (0.05), which indicates that there are differences between the levels decrease significantly before and after CO gas by means of air recovery room. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the air was declared effective recovery tool is able to reduce the CO gas is more than 75%. Efficiency can be demonstrated by the effectiveness of the tool in reducing CO gas and a relatively long lifespan and the costs can be reduced because the tool does not use electrical energy
